Kaohsiung City Carbon Offset Platform
Our city, based on Article 12 of the Kaohsiung Net-Zero City Development Autonomous Ordinance, has established the Kaohsiung Carbon Platform to enhance the city's carbon reduction capacity. This platform aims to promote cross-departmental collaboration towards net-zero goals and encourage enterprises to invest in social responsibility initiatives. Through the Kaohsiung Carbon Offset Platform, we tailor a carbon reduction pathway blueprint for Kaohsiung, establishing a carbon trading mechanism. Additionally, the platform expands the capacity for local governments to apply for voluntary reduction projects, encouraging local businesses to co-fund these initiatives to achieve synergistic effects.
The Kaohsiung carbon trading mechanism is divided into two parts: the cross-departmental greenhouse gas cooperation reduction zone and the voluntary reduction cooperation zone. Participants include public and private sectors within Kaohsiung City. Through the Kaohsiung Carbon Offset Platform, these sectors can engage in carbon rights supply and demand matching. If a project achieves significant reduction effects, it can apply for carbon credits through the Ministry of Environment, sharing the reduction achievements.

Matching Services
Through the platform, we facilitate cross-departmental cooperation for reduction by matching suppliers and demanders of reductions, creating a win-win-win situation for Kaohsiung City, public sectors, and private sectors.
Equipment Replacement Needs: Communities, agencies, and small businesses can apply to post their needs for replacing equipment and machinery on the platform.
Funding Assistance for Reduction Needs: Enterprises or environmental impact assessment development units can express their willingness to provide funding to assist in replacing equipment and implementing carbon reduction actions. The Environmental Protection Bureau will assist in matching the needs of both parties, achieving cross-departmental reductions.

Assistance for Voluntary Reduction Projects
Public and private sectors within Kaohsiung City can use the platform to collaborate on voluntary reduction projects through collective fundraising and matching. After reviewing the project's feasibility through a joint review mechanism, they can apply to the Ministry of Environment for voluntary reduction projects to obtain carbon credits.
Proposal Collection and Matching: Collect feasible proposals and match them with willing investors to facilitate cooperation.
Expert Evaluation: Hire experts to evaluate the proposals, increasing the success rate of voluntary reduction project applications, enhancing incentives, and promoting the carbon economy market.
